For models, see the page on this site
http://cssvirginia.org/vacsn/base/models.htm

The books at the Mariners is Besse's. You can order it from
http://store.yahoo.com/marinersmuseum/icsirvirandu.html

But also see the Maryland Silver Company offering (which I don't have so I can't comment on) at
http://www.marylandsilver.com/Ship.htm

The Porter plans are probably closest to the truth (but not quite, since there were lots of things changed while building, and afterwards). I'm not aware of good versions of those plans being available (there are tiny copies available). Some of the Porter plans are at the Mariners' Museum. I think they have 3 of the 7 or so Porter drawings.

I am often asked about the details of the ship's interior. I'm afraid I don't know any other than through the reports of men on the ship, which don't mention too much at all.
