I also keep a list of descendants so I can notify them in case I find something that may be of interest.

As for markers, I thought the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) provides markers for graves of Confederate soldiers and sailors, but their website (http://www.hqudc.org) only mentions markers as being available for members.

Probably you should contact the local Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) camp, Stonewall Camp #380. Their web page is at

Also I found commercial sites that offered such markers. I just searched Google (http://www.google.com/) for "Confederate grave markers"
