I seriously doubt there are any from around the time of the war (only the North produced such prints -- the South was too busy trying to survive). There might be something from France or Italy newspapers, but I wouldn't know how to find one that is available. I've only seen a couple of prints from France and Italy and don't remember whether they used "Merrimac" or not. Probably so.

Many of the prints offered on EBay are pages cut from books (Please don't support that!). Again, these are mostly by Union supporters and use the name Merrimac.

The earliest prints that I can think of that would use the name CSS Virginia are from around 1906-7 in the book of E.V.White.
