Has anyone read and can they give comments to the above book, "Confederate Phoenix, the CSS Virginia" by Campbell and Flanders? In your opinions, does it add anything different and unusual to what is already known about the Virginia?

Specifically, I'm looking for dimensions on the spacing of the beams (and of the beams themselves) that formed the casemate on which the layers of thick planks and then sheets of iron were placed. If anyone has that information, but hasn't read the book, that's all right as well.

Many thanks.
Jim
