I have been a Civil War collector for almost forty years and some twenty five year ago I aquired the belongings of a Union sailor who aquired two items during the post Civil War years. 1st- a copper bladed powder knife with old tags on it that state "found on board the Merrimac which was sunk two years" and 2nd a printed card from the 1907 Jamestown Exposition with a small piece of metal in the shape of an anchor and card printed "this anchor is made from genuine iron from the Merrimac-Virginia" Old Dominion Iron and Nail Co. Has anyone seen or know of referrences the either of the above items? Thanks
